Nice stay at the Ipanema Plaza
With 50 meters to Ipanema Beach, the location speaks for itself. However, as a 4 star hotel, you would expect more from the room standard. They could really need a renovation and especially to have the windows changed to soundproof windows. But the service, from the reception, to bellboy, waiters and rooftop pool service, is 5 star, so I would like to return. They also have a great beach service, which I think they should mention. Free sunchairs, towels, umbrellas etc. right on Ipanema Beach! With 50 meters to Ipanema Beach, the location speaks for itself. HOTEL AT IPANEMA BEACH
The location is very good.
The bellmen are very nice
Reception is objetive
Room has been cleaned rapidly
Taxis are easy to catch
Restaurants are nearby
I do recomend this hotel in Rio de Janeiro.

South African Couple Vacation Rio
The hotel is conveniently situated with a great Thai restaurant on the corner of the hotel. The service in the hotel is good, but be prepared to wait for everything and that is the same all over Rio. Car service on the outside of the hotel is probably the better option that making use of taxis, just make sure you are NOT overcharged, which can easily happen. Biggest frustration from the entire experience is that English speaking people are not to be found in Rio. The hotel's Internet facilities are extremely expensive and very slow. Dated run-down hotel- good location
Although the Golden Tulip Ipanema Plaza is in a good location, it's very dated and poorly maintained. The windows are thin single pane glass, so the street noise is severe.
Overall, it's not a good value compared to nearby hotels.

Olá
Achei o valor do hotel um pouco inadequado, principalmente nos quesitos internet e estacionamento. A internet extremamente cara, se comparando com outros hoteis próximos e da mesma qualidade, onde oferecem internet gratis...
De resto foi boa a estada.

Several Nights In Rio
We enjoyed our stay at The Golden Tulip Ipanema Plaza. Great Location.
The young lady who represented H Stern and Co, was most helpful.

March visit
Hotel is very nice. Front office staff are excellent, however restaurant staff need to pay more attention to customer needs and focus on service, not the tip. If they focus on service first, the tip will follow.
Need to fall in line with the rest of South America and offer free internet to customers, also offer an iron to customers as required, felt as though you couldn't move in the hotel with out it costing money.

- even though I reserved a NON-smoking room I was given a smelly room, the receptionist was not too friendly but gave us a new room
- porter service is very good
- housekeeping in the room was poor
- breakfast is not bad but too crowded
